I've been going to this dentist for around 10 years. Dr. Hak Kim is as good as it gets. He has more degrees and experience than most dentists, he isn't eager to do unnecessary procedures, and it's not too painful like other places. Also it's easy to deal with insurance and scheduling here.

I called this place on referral from a friend after getting kinda pissed off about my last dentist continuously high-pressure selling me, so I wanted a second opinion. They scheduled me quickly and definitely were not keen to do a crown when it "didn't need to happen yet." Needless to say I went with them and had some composite fillings done.

I love this place because staff are very kind and always willing to help me. Dortor Kim is very gentle and explains things very well. He gave me comfort so I am not afraid to visit dentist office anymore. Absolutely no hurting which I like the most! :)

Would highly recommend Irvine Lake Dental to all. Dr. David Kim is great! He explains what to expect and what is going on very well, and can make u feel pretty comfortable sitting in that dental chair. (If that's possible?) One of the best dentists and persons that you will come across. Though I still hate going to the dentist, its not so bad going here.

Our family has been going to this office for the past three years. The level of care, expertise and professionalism is exceptional. We've had all forms of dental work done, from regular cleaning to fillings, deep cleaning, root canal and wisdom tooth removal. Recently, my wife went to see another dentist while traveling due to pain, and the dentist suggested that she go see a specialist due to the alignment of her wisdom tooth. Luckily, the pain subsided and she was able to make an appointment the fist day back from vacation. Dr H Kim was able to pull out two wisdom teeth without any complications or pain. We have been very impressed with Dr Kim and his staff, and we're very happy to recommend him to anyone who is in need of exceptional dental care.

I am the pickiest person when it comes to choosing who provides for my healthcare. I love this dental office!! I have been seeing Dr. David Kim for years now, he is very skilled, always offers the least invasive and simplest treatments whereas I've been to other dentists who try to tell me I need all kinds of crazy work done costing thousnads of dollars....crowns, etc. I'm only in my 30's and take excellent care of my teeth! Dr. Kim is very honest and gentle, nice office staff too.

I have been a patient for at least seven years and Dr. Kim has always been amazing! He's very personable and skilled and always does his best to make sure you're comfortable. Everything is explained in great detail and I never feel like he's rushing. I always feel very cared for as a patient. And I really like the fact that he does all my cleanings. I've heard that at some other offices it may be a dental hygienist instead. The front office and assistants are great. Bianca is my favorite (she always remembers my name even though she only sees me every six months)! I've never had a problem getting an appointment at a time that was convenient for me. Most importantly, I've always felt assured that they run their business with integrity. I've never felt pushed into doing a procedure that I don't need. You will definitely find that they genuinely care about you as a patient.

I've been going to Lake Dental for over 3 years and I am thankful for my friend who referred me to here. Dr. David Kim has extremely dexterous hands. I usually hate anesthetic shots, because even after the numbing gel, I can still feel the needle and the injection coming into my mouth. But, with him, I feel some pulls and tugs, and with a little pressure on my gum, it's over! One time, I had an emergency visit for my son on a Saturday because his regular pedodontist was not available. Dr. Kim stayed extra hour treating my child. My son is ultra sensitive and he literally cried and screamed when he saw a regular dentist, but Dr. Kim was so good that he didn't complain as much. I was also impressed with his willingness to stay extra hour to care for a patient. When I had to see Dr. Hak Kim, because Dr. David's schedule was full, I noticed how both dentists were skillful and kind. I like the front desk staff as well. The office manager really remembers and knows the patients. She is also very friendly and always follows up with any insurance issues.

Dr. Kim, and his son, Dr. Kim, have both been in charge of my family's dental hygiene since I was 3 years old. We drive close to 30 minutes to see them, and we couldn't imagine it either way. It really is a family business, and they practice with that mentality. They remember you, your stories, and are personable. Honest, and thorough. Ive had 4 separate wisdom teeth removed through them, countless cavities, and endless cleanings.

Because of a schedule conflict, I made the mistake of visiting a different dental office. After visiting a different office, I realized why I should not trust my oral health with anyone else than Dr. Kim. The reasons are as follows: 1. Cleanliness - this office is well maintained. Other office made me feel like I was waiting at a local greyhound bus stop, but this place is actually clean and feels sanitary. 2. Honesty- I've always felt that Dr. Kim's prices are fair and reasonable. In general, dental care can be expensive, but I feel confidant that I'm not being ripped off by Dr. Kim. There's another office near by that has "consultants," who will constantly call and bother patients for treatments. After a few sales phone calls, I felt like I was purchasing a car. It's likely that these consultants are putting their financial interests in front of the patient's dental/medical well-being, and I'm relieved at the fact that Dr. Kim doesn't utilize any pushy sales tactics. 3. Competence - a basic background check showed that this office has not had any malpractice or insurance fraud claims. Overall, honest and competent dental care at reasonable prices.

My family and I have been going to this dentist for YEARS. They are top-notch and even though we only go once a year (oops!), they still remember all our names, what's going on in our lives, etc. I have no idea how they have such good memories. I think they must secretly take notes or something. I had been going to other dentists before and thought the quality wasn't as great and felt like I was being charged an arm and a leg for dental work. These guys are great and affordable. Highly recommend.

Just got two wisdom teeth removed. I was so nervous and scared. I had an amazing experience here. Dr was gentle yet firm. Very relaxed and all in all it took 25 minutes to remove both. Painless procedure and now recovering nicely. Will recommend friends and family here. What a great place !!!

I was introduced to Dr. Kim by a family friend in 2007. Our family has been coming back since. Honest and thorough service kept us coming. They are friendly, professional, punctual, and very personal with you. I always feel taken care of. Received couple crowns, regular check ups with Dr. Kim (both of them). They even fixed some issues from previous treatments with other dentists. I highly recommend them to any new patients!

I absolutely love my dentist. Dr. Kim is very professional, attentive towards my care. The staffs are very courteous. I had my first visit for a cleaning and Dr. Kim did my cleaning himself, not a hygienist. And I got my two fillings replaced last week. The entire time I felt so comfortable and he was very informative, gentle and thorough. I am very pleased with the result, so far he is the best dentist I've ever come across. I am usually picky about my healthcare providers so I had to go through multiple dental offices until I found one that I trust and like. This practice is owned by two dentists and I have been treated by the younger (Dr.David Kim) dentist. Unlike other offices who tried to push unnecessary treatments, Dr.Kim frankly diagnosed/treated me. His fees for treatment are very reasonable. The staffs are welcoming as well. I will continue to visit this office.

Forgot to check in yesterday I'm so mad at myself. Anyway yelpers this is the place to go! I went there for a consultation on getting my wisdom teeth removed and ended up deciding to get the procedure done that same day. The dentist was very patient and made sure I was comfortable, even stopped several times to give me more numbing medicine as I could still fill the pain. Overall I had a great experience. The dentist made sure to explain everything clearly and I didn't feel rushed even though I was a little late to my appointment. The staff was very friendly and the facility is clean and comfortable. The place is easy to find with a lot of parking. Highly recommended!

Damn. I didn't really want to write a review because I like having a good dentist to myself. Dr. Kim has been the best dentist I've seen in the Irvine area. At other places, it might be normal to wait 15 to 45 minutes before you're seen, but I've never had to wait here. Dr. Kim is often at the front desk to greet me, and when we walk back to the dental chair I see my chart has already been pulled up on the computer screen. Dr. Kim then talks me through the process. This is the best part, because I really do appreciate when someone talks me through the process and explains what I should expect from the procedure. Dr. Kim also takes before and after shots of my teeth, which is nice because sometimes I imagine that dentist are in my mouth messing around just to make a few extra bucks. Dr. Kim then numbs my mouth, we talk about the NBA or life in Irvine, and then he gets to work. I'm usually in and out in under 45 minutes.

This place deserves more reviews. I came a while ago because I just got a cavity filling in NorCal (went to my home dentist but I live in Irvine now) and started freaking out because that area was super sensitive. I thought my cavity filling might have fallen off or did not cover everything because the tooth, while not painful, felt uncomfortable and sensitive. I didn't have a dentist in this area so I looked online to see which dentists would take my insurance (delta dental ppo) and ended up calling this place. They were able to give me an appointment in the afternoon of the same day I called which was great because at this point I was freaking out a lot.. Came to the office and filled out some paperwork. Dr. David Kim came to see me and asked me about what the issue was. They took x-rays free of charge and turns out that there was nothing wrong, just that my cavity was done next to a nerve in my tooth so it would be sensitive for a few weeks. He also asked me if I had any other questions and was very calm throughout the entire process. I'll be coming back for sure (:

I love sugary foods, but I was not blessed with strong enamel. As a result, I've spent countless hours and great amount of money on dental care. I encountered dentists who didn't care about my oral health, and I also had dentists who pushed for somewhat unnecessary and expensive treatments. My faith in dentists has been extremely low until I started visiting this office. At this office, both dentists always answer all the questions I had, and I've always felt that they genuinely cared about my oral health. The prices are reasonable, and the equipment is very modern. I also love the fact that this office has not had a single health/fraud/malpractice issue (according to the Dental Board of CA), and the office is always clean/sanitary. Overall, great office with very professional staff.

I found Irvine lake dental through yelp. I'm so happy with all my experiences here. Everyone is gentle and kind and it's the same every time I'm there. Scheduling is very easy and accommodating and they will remind you of your appointments. You ladies are awesome! Dr. David Kim had to extract my tooth and he did a great job. He was so thorough, made sure I knew what was being done, made sure I was comfortable, and the whole thing was so pain free. Oh yeah, I freakin love the x ray machine there. It's so cool and high tech!! You will see what I mean when you see and experience it. I've had horrible experiences at dental offices before. I've had a root canal done horribly wrong. The dentist was on the phone convincing another patient to wait for her at her other location while she was working on my root canal. She was rushing and did a horrible job, hence the extracting of the tooth. She also charged my insurance for more than the work done. I seriously get anxiety whenever I go to a dentist. Thank you so much for restoring my faith in dentists. My husband also had deep cleaning done and I'm coming back for other dental care work. You're our favorite dentist now. I'm referring my family and friends here because I want them to experience the best dental care ever!

I had my first appointment here this morning and it was one of the most positive dentist experiences in my life! I hadn't been to the dentist in about 2 years, so I was really nervous they were going to scold me for that. They didn't even bring it up though. Everyone was very friendly and the dentist explained to me what he was doing, what the purpose of each tool was, etc, which I really appreciated. Also, I actually got lost on my way there due to the construction happening in this complex, so I was about 15 minutes late, but they were super nice about it and weren't upset at all that I was late. I really like that they have Saturday appointments here, so I don't have to take time off work. I highly recommend this place!!

My family and I all go here now. We found this dental office in Yelp and the reviews are true - this place is great! Dr. David Kim is very considerate, patient and clear with all services recommended and done. Also he is gentle and open on Saturdays which is convenient. I had 2 fillings. My husband just got a crown & cleaning. Quality of work = superb. We are really happy and plan to come back for all future dental work.

both of the dr. kims are the most honest and skilled dentists ever. one time i visited this other dentist in irvine for cleaning, and she said i have 2 major cavities and need fillings immediately. so i went to the older dr. kim for a second opinion and he pretty much said it's nothing to worry about. he is definitely not interested in ripping people off, but does what's best for patients. the office is very clean and nice and the staff members are super friendly. make an appointment now, you won't regret it!
