As a first time mom hearing about the horror stories of some dental practice places I was so scared to bring my daughter to any dentist. I did my research and found this place. The outside may be a little outdated but please don't make this turn you away. The inside is beautiful and the doctor is absolutely amazing. I can't praise Dr. Douglas Kim enough!! My husband needs major dental work done and after seeing other dentists, we were referred to Dr. Kim by a close friend. Thank God because after our first consultation, my husband felt so comfortable and appreciated Dr. Kim's empathy, knowledge, and confidence. Dr. Kim even explained other options with such assurance...and we just felt at ease with his genuine concern. Today was day 1 of my husbands procedure and so far so good!! I'm most likely going to change denstis for my mom and son. It doesn't matter that we're driving from torrance.... You're in awesome hands with Dr. Kim and his staff!!! Thank you Dr. Kim!!!!

Dr. Kim saved me a bunch of money. My previous dentist I went to for a cleaning two weeks ago told me that I needed to get my filling redone on 3 molars and 1 root canal on a cracked tooth. Dr. Kim and his team told me my teeth were fine and that there's no crack. He also said that my previous dentist didn't even clean my teeth. Dr. Kim and his staff are outstanding. They actually care about a patients oral hygiene and aren't trying to make a quick buck off you.

I still come here for my dental needs and they are great as always. I had gotten a crown here and my tooth gives me no issues and still looks great. I appreciate how they take the time to explain everything to you, I had a couple of questions and they thoroughly explained everything and told me what precautions to take ans such. They don't push anything either and let you take your time.

I was here for the first time recently and had a great experience. They were very flexible with scheduling even got me in within a day. The staff is great and very attentive. Ofelia was one of the staff that helped us out and she was Awesome!!! She has so much patience with my kids and explained everything to them and took her time with them as well...I will definitely come back for all the family. So money-grerdy, even asked for a fee to get my xray, prices are already on the high end side, the $10 first time exam is only to get an expensive quote that people without insurance cannot afford.

What a wonderful clean dental office, filled with respectful educated staff! They really know what they're doing , and provide the best service. I'm pretty skeptical about dentists and doctors - changed many times. But a good friend of mine suggested this dental office. I was overdue on my annual checkup so I decided to go to First Dental Care from my home in Los Angeles. The office is pretty close to the freeway, so my commute was good. But when I got to the office, I was a bit surprised by the exterior of the office - I imagined that it'd be in a multi-storied commercial building. I started getting a little disappointed and getting skeptical again. However, when I stepped into the office, that went away. The office was pretty large and clean. And when I stepped into the patient chair, I felt even better with pretty modern equipments. Also, the staff was very helpful and made me and other patients in the office feel at ease while waiting. Overall, I was very satisfied. Dr. Kim and associates were extremely helpful, careful, and considerate. I've scheduled my next appointment and dental procedure with Dr. Kim - even with the distance from Los Angeles - and I recommend First Dental Care. Even for those you that are skeptical like me.

New patient reporting my experience... Pleased to say that I had a wonderful experience. The entire staff was very pleasant and attentive and Dr. Kim just seems like a very genuine and knowledgable guy. As someone who works in the dental field, Im very aware of how shady some dentists can be but I could tell that Dr. Kim only had the intent on doing what was best for me, as a patient, not what was best for his wallet, and trust me, that's rare. Not only that but he was very gentle and constantly made sure I was in no pain while getting the work I needed. This place is a gem and I recommend it for anyone looking for a dentist in the area.

The whole staff is so helpful! My siblings have been coming here for years and both my siblings got there braces treatment. My family is very satisfied with their work. Now I bring both of my kids here and I wouldn't trust another place. I definitely recommend.

Dr. Douglas Kim and Cristian were extremely warm, polite, helpful, and professional during my two wisdom tooth extractions. I did not feel a thing and any pain during the procedure, and Dr. Douglas Kim helped me to feel comfortable and took out the two wisdom tooth with ease. He made sure that throughout the procedure I wasn't in any pain and okay. The facility is clean and everything looked brand new as well, similar to a new dental office. Nice, clean office with very friendly staff! Had an appointment to take my wisdom teeth out, and I was nervous, despite being a dentist myself, but I couldn't have asked for a better outcome! He had all teeth out in no time, and I didn't feel anything. Shoutout to the hygienist Lee as well, her local anesthetic technique was top-notch, no pain. Looks like I found my new dentist.

My wife was recommended to first dental by a friend of ours and im soo glad she did. She had multiple things done from deep cleaning to mostly recently wisdome teeth extractions. My wife was sooo nervous but they reassured her that she would be ok. They talked to her through the whole process. 3 teeth out luckily only took about 30 minutes. felt no pain during it. Minimal pain and swelling next day. Once our daughter is old enough we def know where she is going. Amazing staff sweet,helpful, empathetic, and not greedy!. Places like this and people like dr douglas kim make going to the dentist a way better experience.

About time I write a review for first dental care. I wouldn't say I am a dentist connoisseur but I have had my fair share of dentist. Just having been experiencing different dentist and dentist offices over the many years I have been going Dr.Kim is my most favorite dentist. He is very clear and thorough. He successfully finished two root canals I needed to get done one tooth had an infection for quite some time he made sure I had it taken care of. One tooth had a very bad cavity leading to a root canal he cleaned up before it had gotten worse. I had one cap that did not fit correctly to where it looked perfect due to me not going to get the right crown on sooner (I waited four months) he sent it back to get resized and had it for me the next day. Overall first dental care is now my permanent dentist office and my future family dentist. Do keep in mind I live an hour away. The drive is worth is for my now perfect teeth. Thank you Dr. Kim and your lovely staff

I just walked away from a dentist place thinking to myself..."that wasn't so bad. I cant wait to come back Monday to finish the other half of my jaw." I came on a Friday afternoon to First Dental, luckily getting an appointment with them at short moments notice. I have been meaning to get my teeth check for awhile. I found First Dental from Yelps and fortunately for me, i think i found my dentist. Having run into so many bad dentists over the years, I have been turned off by them. However, Dr. Kim was very genuine with his extraordinary staff. Unlike the many staffs i have met before at other dentists locations, the one that asked you to wait and kept you waiting. First Dental staffs made it their priority to get me in and understand that my time is precious. I was at awe to see how fast they worked. I decided to get a deep clean. Because I came toward the end of the day, Dr Kim knew he didn't have time to do a full deep clean, so he offered to only do half my mouth. This was a great recommendation since i can eat with the other half. He did an amazing job injecting the needle into my gum, carefully moving it so I cannot feel the pain. I felt no pain, just a small tingling. I never knew that dentistry is an art and today I witnessed an artist skillfully performing his craft. Dr Kim did an amazing job working his hands and making sure to get rid of the gunks in my mouth. He shared stories and seemed very relaxed for a dentist. I felt completely at ease the entire time. I even walked away with a bag of goodies, a few packs of floss and a toothbrush. Thank you Dr Kim! You are now my dentist.

I took my daughter here last year for her first dental appointment ever. She's now three and they handled the "first-time-toddler" like pro's! They took my little one to a special room in the back filled with stickers and toys for her to look at, and they made her feel comfortable and happy the entire time. In fact, she didn't want to leave! Lol. After her appointment they gave her a toy, and made her first dental experience one to remember. While I was there I realized they are a family dentistry, so I could get treated there too. Fast forward one year, I'm having some discomfort so I call to make an app. From the very first phone call I already knew they would be AMAZING. Their staff is well informed and professional, but also personable and VERY kind. I got there and there was not much wait. I got thorough X-Rays done and they have top of the line equipment all the way through. Their staff was just as nice in persona as they had been on the phone. So, a year later, their standards were still HIGH and the quality of service was still the same - thumbs up and one star right there! I wasn't seen by Dr. Kim right away, but did talk to one of his assisting dentists, who shared with me what was happening to my teeth and all the work I needed to get done. What I loved is that she said, "we don't have to treat this one tooth now if you don't want to, it can wait until you feel like it's truly a problem." Wwhhaaattt?! They're not trying to do stuff just to get ma monays?!? Hahaha - second star right there baby! After a full assessment of my situation, the manager, Grace, who is AMAZING, walked me through all my options from the most expensive to the most cost effective and showed me the benefits and cons of each. She said it was my choice to make and that they offered payment plans with Care Credit - third and fourth star right there. Dr. Kim walked in at that point and shared with me his experience and what he would do with one particular situation, but again, he said there's no rush. I was super thrilled to hear from him because he knows his stuff. So confident and so nice. You can tell he loves his work and there's nothing but honesty and good vibes at that place - 5 stars! WILL be going in next week for my first work and I'm actually excited! Who says that about going to the dentist?! Well, if you go there, you will! 5 starts. Place is bomb.

I drove down for the 4th of July long weekend and had an emergency (my daughter chipped her tooth a week before and it got infected). I was staying near Disneyland with the family and couldn't bear seeing my little girl in pain so I looked on Yelp and saw the awesome reviews for First Dental Care. Dr. Kim was extremely helpful, careful and gentle with my daughter, knowledgeable, and kept my girl calm, happy, and smiling throughout the emergency procedure. The hygienists and associates were really sweet and made my job as a Dad a LOT easier too. A cool thing about this place was the decor wasn't drab and outdated! It was really modern and clean, which is always a plus when going to the dentist office because we all know how other dental offices look like. I highly recommend First Dental Care and Dr. Kim and have referred all of my friends in Anaheim, Irvine, Buena Park, and Santa Ana, especially the one's with kids. We all know, as a parent, how important hygiene and teeth care are for our kids so I couldn't be happier. Thanks, Dr. Kim! Really appreciate you taking care of my family ... the trip would've been a disaster if it wasn't for you and your team

So today was my 3rd visit to this office, before i describe my experience let me share the fact that i've been to way too many dentists to the point where i have quiet a good experience with different procedures, i've had alot of crowns, root canals, fillings... Just name it, anyway, the reception is very clean and comfy, the staff are decent, the first i time they did an xray and discussed all the treatments needed, they seemed pretty honest unlike most of the other dentists i've been to. I started my treatments , the doctor taking care of them is called Minh nguyen, when she gave me the anesthetic shot, i didnt even know she did, very smooth and right to the point, she did a great job on my 3 feelings and 2 crowns, even her humming during the procedure was very soothing.
