Dr. Kennie Kwok has a diverse, multidisciplinary background with specialist experience in periodontology. Growing up in Los Angeles, he attended the University of California, San Diego, earning a dual degree in Bioengineering and Biochemistry, and followed it up by a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Initially, Dr. Kwok sharpened his general dental skills, and later developed a deep interest in periodontology, and completed a Certificate in Periodontology at NYU Lutheran Medical Center, where also he served as the Chief Resident. Dr. Kwok is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (ABP), American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society.
He also volunteers as an instructor with the UCSD Pre-Dental Society and Free Dental Clinics. As a dental practitioner, Dr. Kwok listens to his patients to devise effective treatment plans and imparts useful dental knowledge to benefit their oral health. When not examining teeth, Dr. Kwok likes to travel, play sports and enjoy the outdoors.

Dr Kwok is outstanding! My husband and I both transferred when Dr Kwok took over the practice. We loved our previous perio, but Dr Kwok is absolutely the best periodontist I've been to. Unfortunately, I have way too much experience with periodontal disease, implants etc due to congenital problems. My husband is the same and has weird anomalies like extra roots in his molars. We need periodontists with super human powers. Dr Kwok is a REALLY good diagnostician. He's careful, thorough and very smart. Also really nice and easy to talk with. Office staff is AMAZING, and I always feel like I'm visiting old friends. I am soooooooo glad that we are under Dr Kwok's care! !!!

I took my parents to visit Dr. kwok for the first time. He was very nice and patient and explained all the details of my parents' teeth problems in a very professional way. He answered all our questions and also taught us a lot regarding how to protect our teeth in our daily life. My mom was very nervous at the beginning, Dr. Kwok and his staff were very kind and they comforted my mom to make her relax. Dr. Kwok did a very good job and all of us had a great experience with Dr. Kwok. I will definitely recommend Dr. Kwok to all my friends.

My experience at SAN DIEGO PERIODONTICS & IMPLANT DENTISTRY was absolutely the best!!! Dr. Kwok is extremely professional and the entire treatment & office team were very helpful, pleasant, attentive and have created a comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Kwok personally called my phone to check on me after the laser surgery, he was beyond amazing and my gums healed without any issue. I can't give enough of a compliment and thanks to this entire office. Kelly at the front desk walked me through every aspect of what I would go through during the surgery, outlining the cost of the work I needed. I came to dr Kwok with a variety of dental issues, of which he addressed perfectly. First off, dr. Kwok is incredibly bright, with some pretty impressive academic credentials. He's also young, so as a younger skeptic myself, I could trust that he was consistently informed with the ever-evolving practice of periodontics, and the associated new techniques/technology. He also is incredible personable, which made me trust that I was was getting exactly what I was paying for. He even called me on his personal cell just to make sure my procedure went smoothly, which I was pretty impressed with. Kelly, the office manager, is also incredibly personable and goes out of her way to make sure my treatment plan and correlating dentists are exactly what I need, which I've never experienced before with corporate dentistry. I would recommend dr Kwok to anyone seeking implants as I have never doubted the accuracy of my procedures or whether his diagnosis was correct. 5 stars all around!!

I really love Dr Kwok's Perio Office. Dr Kwok and his staff are excellent, professional and caring. I have been coming to SD Perio since Dr. Richards owned the business and had every confidence that Dr. Kwok would be as great as Dr Richards and have not been disappointed. I looked up a periodontist area in desperate need because I was told by a dentist at another office that my teeth were going to fall out!!... I panicked and I wrote a message to Dr. Kwok's office and I immediately got a call the next morning before they even opened their office! I was so surprised and I instantly felt a little relief knowing that Dr.Kwok was going to help me. The receptionist and all the staff were amazing! I got my extractions done and the Dr. Told me that my teeth were not going to fall out!... I would definitely go back to this office and I would recommend it to everyone!

I had never used DDS Richards before but had a slight emergency late Friday afternoon. I called his office, then his personal cell phone and explained my problem. He agreed to meet me at his office Saturday morning. He fixed the post in my dentures. I had no insurance, but his charges were more than reasonable. He is very nice and knowledgeable and I would recommend him to all.

I have only the highest praise for Dr. Kwok and his entire staff: it doesn't get any better than this, honestly. He is a consummate professional: intelligent, well-trained, articulate, patient, efficient, warm, kind, ethical, respectful. He is an excellent technician and also a perfect gentleman A to Z. He has prescribed a plant to help me save one tooth and possibly another one, plus will perform Lanap Protocol laser surgery, along with localized osseous surgery and bone grafting as well. Although the surgery is schedule for four hours, I have full faith in Dr. Kwok to do the very best he can to halt the advance of my periodontal disease. His staff is always efficient, friendly respectful, warm : kudos especially to Kelly and Kathy for outstanding jobs. I couldn't ask for a better, more trustworthy dentist and office. Therefore, if you are looking for a new periodontist, look no further, for you'd search far and wide, honestly, to find anyone better. I feel blessed to have this dentist.

As a dentist in San Diego, I have to do my homework to find the right specialists to work with, and with Dr. Kwok its a no brainer! He is a very skilled periodontist and just an overall great person with a long history of community service. Dr Kwok is an awesome surgeon. He is not just professional, he is very kind, down to earth , friendly and just a great guy. I am a brand new patient to his practice and his staff is totally awesome. They made me feel as if I have been comming here on a regular basis even though it was my first time. Everyone in his office is too kind. They always have such radiant smiles and are so sweet. My surgery was at 2pm and He called me that night to make sure I was alright. Technical proficiency and quality of work are the hallmarks of San Diego Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, which is designed as a multi-faceted periodontics office, tailored to diagnose and treat your unique and individual dental needs. My dental issues are on-going, some of which go back to childhood and braces. In addition, I am an older person with a fragile immune system and therefore appreciate Dr. Kwok's sincere interest in my well-being, his periodontal expertise and fair pricing. Dr. Kwok has done several procedures for me ranging from a single implant, which I love, to a "ridge augmentation." A "ridge augmentation" is a procedure which builds enough bone so that an implant can be placed. All procedures were completed in a truly outstanding and competent manner. Also, Dr. Kwok provided great follow-up care. Dr. Kwok is a perfectionist, does super work, is a great guy. Simply put, I would highly recommend San Diego Periodontics.

Dr. Kwok just took over for Dr. Richards. This is SDPerio. I have had work here before by Dr. Eric Driver. His work was spectacular. I've only just begun my work for an implant and pinpoint gum surgery with Dr. Kwok. So far, so good. He's a nice guy who explains things well. The pricing is competitive. I'll update this review next year when all the work is done. I would recommend him for sure.
