When I do have a filling, the pain is managed and the procedure is done with care. Im happy I found this dental office, its much better than other experiences Ive had. Dr. Jana Osmolinski left a broken Rotary Instrument in my tooth number 30 and it can not be restored. It has been infected for 3 years and i was feeling extremely tired for no reason when i live a very healthy and beautiful lifestyle. Do not waste your time and money here. #lawsuit

I recently moved to CA and needed a new dentist. I am so happy I found this place. I love the staff, especially Brandon. He is my all time favorite. I had a lot of concerns after my X-rays, some cavities had been overlooked by my past dentist. Brandon was so patient in answering my insurance questions and financial concerns. (I called him 3 times) Dr Jana was so kind. I am very nervous and anxious about needles. As she tried to fill a cavity she approached me with the needle and I couldn't stay still. It was clear this was not going to work. She quickly changes strategies, gave me some gas to relax me and made me much more comfortable to the procedure. She was also patient with me as my anxiety level rose and talked me through what she was doing. I was worried she would get frustrated with me being almost 28 and crying about a filling but she stayed positive and kind. I will be a patient of theirs forever. PS Their location is so cute! The decor is clean, chic and comfortable.

I have just completed a lengthy dental procedure that required many scheduled appointments over a period of 9 months... During that time...I had multiple after hours emergencies...Dr. Jana made me feel comfortable and she is superb in her skills.. I would travel across the US for dental work with La Jolla Family Dentistry. The service is superior to none, the diagnosis is spot on and the follow up is like something I never expected. I was working abroad and had a tooth issue. With a 12 hour time difference, Dr. Osmolinski provided a possible diagnosis and I followed up with a local dentist who concluded the same. I will never change my dentist and would highly recommend their services for all family members, from young children to seniors. Great, great care.

I found this practice through my dental insurance. I saw all the nice reviews, but what stood out is that all the good reviews seem authentic. I arrived and met the receptionist(Dawn) who greeted me and she even offered me refreshments. The contemporary decor and high tech office really stood out upon first notice(I only had to bite on a stick to take an x-ray, versus in my past having a square shaped object stuffed in my mouth.. Awful). I was quickly escorted back after finishing my paper work by the hygienist. The cleaning had to be the most thorough cleaning I've received thus far. I met Dr. Jana soon after my cleaning and I immediately enjoyed her cheerful disposition. She assessed all my treatment I may need and let me know how we can take things step by step, even carefully answered all my questions with ease. Working in the healthcare field myself, I really appreciated the doctor taking her time. Overall, my experience at this dental practice was seamless and very pleasant ,which is usually not the words you use with going to the dentist. Brandon ,the office manager approached me before I finished with my appointment to make sure all went well. ( took me by surprise). Thanks La Jolla Family Dentistry!!!

I am from Spain. My cousin in Spain is a dentist, and she is awesome! I have been looking for a good dentist here, but it has not been easy. Now, I am so happy that I went to this place! My husband has recently retired from the military and my 5 year old and I needed a new dentist. I am so glad we found La Jolla Family Dentistry through our insurance and all the wonderful reviews here on Yelp. My daughter and I went together for our first visit and the whole staff was very attentive and kind. Their technology is the newest, and best of all easiest on little ones for x-rays and such. We both were examined by Dr. Jana and I appreciated her thorough work. I had just come from another dentist in town that was not on my insurance and he recommended that I needed $4000.00 worth of work done. Dr. Jana re-examined me and his X-rays and showed me where he was looking at and explained that it was not needed. All I know is when you leave the dentist and your 5 year old is asking when she gets to come back you have found a gem. So thank you very much everyone at La Jolla Family Dentistry for a great experience and many more to come.

I'm updating my review to 3 stars because they've made efforts to rectify the situation. Since I've already gone to another dentist there really isn't much they can do. My advice is people have busy lives. If a patient has a 9:30 appointment don't just leave them sitting there till nearly 10:30 and then let others back THAT CAME IN WAY LATER. Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode in the Chinese restaurant.

I had an appointment for a cleaning today with Angela. She is amazing! Not only is she very knowledgeable and gentle, but she made me less anxious during the cleaning than I was when I walked in! She explained everything she was doing and was very thorough. She even came in at 7 am to make sure I could get in before work. I am always referring patients to this practice and they always acknowledge when I send them someone new. I would recommend this dentist to anyone! It's very modern and hip and the staff are stellar!

Jana Osmolinski is the worse dentist...i asked for simple repair on small chip on my front teeth and she did cut it and made it uneven, she ruines it ....never go with her service...very very bad dentist...

Even at the age of 23, I have grown to appreciate and seek only quality service experiences and choosing what my gut feels will be the best experience. After being seen by both Dr. Jana and Dr. Eric Osmolinski, as well as their hygienist and their gem of an Office Manager, Tess, La Jolla family dentistry is my go to place for dental care. Through extractions and dental surgery, they were upfront about what they were doing, always asked if I was okay, and the after-procedure check ups via telephone and in office were exceptional. Great people at La Jolla Family Dentistry.

Dr. Jana was so lovely, and the office has a really nice feel. Going to the dentist is inherently a little nerve racking, so going to an office that puts you immediately at ease is a big plus. I really liked that the office is available for emergency services. The last office I went to was crickets if I needed after hours support.

I was referred here for a possible root canal - I go to O2 Dentistry and believe these are now owned by the same people. I didn't really think I needed one due to lack of pain, but the xray showed I might. On they way, I will admit I was a bit skeptical thinking of going into a La Jolla office and that they might just push to do it for the $$. The endodontist this place uses just does root canals and works in different offices. I was very pleasantly surprised with how capable, informative an helpful this guy is - can't remember his name. He concluded I did not need the root canal, so I was relieved and impressed with his honesty. He did not rush through at all and answered several questions I had for the next 10 or so minutes. He didn't try to rush me out at all and was very helpful. If I do need a root canal, I would insist on having this guy do it - need to get his name.

Best dental office in San Diego! Dr. Jana and her staff treated me like family. I had bad dental work from another office and Dr. Jana had no problems with helping me fix my issues. She helped me make a treatment plan and worked with me with payments. She knows her stuff and I will continue to go to her office for my future dental needs. Dr Jana and the entire staff are absolutely wonderful! From the director at the front desk Dawn and Brandon are very polite and courteous plus informative and professional! Angela is the most gentle dental hygienist ever very little discomfort after and explains everything before and after the work is done. I've had a fear of dentist for about a decade and now it's a pleasure to go! When you walk in you are welcomed and when you leave you feel like you have no problem going back. I have referred my family, co-workers and friends and everyone is extremely satisfied they drive from Orange County and the trip is worth while. The place is very nicely decorated even the bathroom! Dr. Jana is an anesthesiologist so she can put you to sleep and wake up with all of the work done just what I wanted! Dr Eric is great too but I've never met him I was out the whole time but he did a great job! Go here for anything you won't be disappointed!

The best dentist I have ever had in my life. During finals week in college, I had a very sharp pain in my tooth at 5pm (they close at 5). Dr. Jana took my emergency call and saw me at 7pm that same evening (this was my first time here). My tooth was infected to the nerve and I was certain I needed a root canal. Dr. Jana worked her magic and saved me from a root canal! I was shocked and extremely happy. I have been going to this dentist since that incident and have always had a wonderful experience.

I LOVE this place!! Dr. Jana is so caring, compassionate and educated! Her staff is very professional and organized- Tess is the best she always returns my calls in a timely manner, is friendly and very very helpful. Tess was the first person I spoke with when I called about Invisalign and she was on top of it with insurance and getting me right in and started treatment. I tried other dentists but it was always about the money and they didn't want to work with my insurance. I just about gave up and then found Dr. Jana through living social and gave it one last shot. I've always wanted a beautiful smile but it just would've NEVER happened had I not found this place. I enjoy coming here and chatting with Tess and Dr. Jana about our kids they have a wonderful relationship which makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. I am very happy with my results!!!

Don't waste your time. The new dentist at La Jolla Family Dentistry, Dr. Jana Osmolinski, was a total waste of time, a total sales pitch. I understand that dentists need to make money and they only get half the Groupon price, but the idea in a Groupon should be to show the customer how good they are, and get you to come back for future needs, and refer others, not to insist you buy other services. When I told them I didn't want to purchase other services beyond those of the Groupon, they flat out refused to continue with the cleaning and whitening! It's no wonder that the office was practically empty, and that they need to recruit people with offers (fakes ones though they may be), for $40 of cleaning, xrays, and lifetime whitening services. La Jolla Family Dentistry is Bait and Switch to the max. This dental visit to La Jolla Family Dentistry was purely a sales office, and they did virtually nothing else. They advertised on Groupon $40 for xrays, cleaning, and lifetime of whitening. However, when I got there, I spent 40 minutes at the office, and they cleaned 2 teeth. The rest of the time they spent trying to convince me to get services which I did not want. When I told them I was not going to pay additional for any other services, the dentist told me it wasn't worth her time to continue, and left the room, and asked her assistant to continue trying to convince me to purchase other services. I told her I wasn't interested in listening to more pitches, and she told me they wouldn't even do the cleaning, so I left. In all, I wasted 90 minutes in drive time and sitting in a near empty La Jolla Family Dentistry office

Best dentist EVER!! Due to many past bad experiences, I had a huge fear of the dentist. Because of that I stayed away from the dentist for years. I finally broke a front tooth, and had to break down and see a dentist. I thank my lucky stars that I found Dr. Jana. From the moment I met her, my fears went away. She is like no other dentist I have ever met. She is incredibly kind, sweet, intelligent and compassionate. She took her time to talk with me, to understand where my fears came from. She didn't rush the conversation, and when we finished talking, I broke down in tears with relief that finally, here was a dentist willing to understand my fears and help me deal with and work through them. Dr. Jana's work is excellent. She is an artist!! My chipped tooth was brown and dead, and very embarrassing. Dr. Jana fixed my tooth with a beautiful crown, and has given me back the smile that I lost many years ago. The procedure was pain free. For the first time in my life, I felt that the dentist who was working on me actually cared about me. I also have to mention her staff as well. The hygenist Angela is awesome, very gentle and thorough. And Dr. Jana's assistant Manuel is so sweet and caring. He let me squeeze his hand through the procedure because he knew how scared I was. Tess at the front desk is great. She's pleasant, professional, and puts you at ease the minute you walk in the door. I can't say enough about Dr. Jana. After nearly 50 years of bad experirences, I have FINALLY found my dentist for life!! Thank you, Dr. Jana!!!

Where to even begin...I've been hunting a dentist in San Diego for a year. I'm very particular about who I let work on me. I finally found the best dentist southern California has to offer. Dr. Jana is immaculate. She's incredibly skilled, thorough and talented at what she does. I have had nearly every tooth filled, had cleanings and even a root canal with her staff. They are welcoming, their hospitality is very comforting, all of their equipment is up to date and state of the art, their office is beautiful as well. Manny the dental assistant is such a great guy, is very handsome and kind. He makes me feel at ease, is diligent and works super hard along side Dr. Jana to provide the best treatment possible. You can tell a dentist as strong in her field as Dr. Jana is...she wouldn't settle for less than utmost perfection, and she has that in Manny! Tess at the front desk is always on top of things, helps me chart out my weekly visits and plans for reconstruction. She's upbeat, positive and what you want to see when you walk into a dentist office. I can't say enough how grateful I am to have found such a great practice. I cannot say enough good things about everyone at La Jolla Family Dentistry, particularly Brandon at the front desk and Dr. Jana. My 3 year old daughter needed some major work done, which naturally I had a lot of anxiety about. Brandon was so patient with me and answered all of my questions over the course of many phone calls regarding insurance coverage, out of pocket costs, etc. Dr. Jana was very thorough and did an excellent job of explaining everything that needed to be done. The day of surgery went very smoothly and as expected. Dr. Jana's method of anesthesiology allowed my daughter to have a non-traumatic experience which was a huge priority for me. I liked this office so much that I will be returning to them for my own dental care, as well as my daughters. This is based on my 1st visit. Tess in the front, Manny the hygienist and Dr. Jana as the Dentist. In my 25 years of trying different dentists & offices, I have not had an experience as wonderful as this one. I was greeted immediately when I walked in with 2 kids and Tess not once gave me or them a look of frustration. Instead, she smiled, offered drinks and was just amazing. I was called in and they waited in a very nice lobby. Very comfortable, clean and new environment. Tess is wonderful, very accommodating and nice. I then met Manny. Also incredible. The machine for XRays gets praise as well. Just stand there and it takes pics. A 2 minute process with nothing shoved in your mouth and no spit stretching when they pull those things out. Yuck. Very comfortable and fast. Manny gave me the best cleaning I received in my life. It is the 1st time I experience what people have meant by that smooth clean feeling. In fact, a week later, my teeth still feel incredible. Then Dr. Jana came in. Here is what set this office far far apart from the rest. I had quiet a few cavities on the top part of my mouth and Manny showed me a few tricks to help with brushing that I wasn't doing and was possibly missing the spots. What won me over is when both Dr. Jana and Manny, made me realize that a few concerns I had were not just happening to me. All this time I was made to think that it's completely my fault that these concerns are happening and I need to spend tons of money to fix them, and they both assured me that yes it could be that but it's something that happens to our teeth as we age as well. I left feeling so much better that I am not the only one experiencing these issues and it's not even necessarily the way I do things. They made me feel human. I can't give enough praise to the service I received. If only every business can understand how having great staff is detrimental. I really hope this type of service continues forever and I will never leave this office : ) AMAZING!

I was at another dentist and met the team last year when i had zoom whitening and i have never forgotten the great experience and so i will tell everyone to make La Jolla Family Dentistry their dentist. Teeth got knocked back by 1/8th of an inch on Friday night and I needed urgent care. Called in at like midnight and Dr Eric responded immediately and gave me first spot the next day at 8am. Dr. Janna and her niece were really kind and nice. They helped put my teeth back into place really quick. They were also really funny and kept talking during the treatment, making the treatment seem less painful and less time consuming. I am really thankful to them for waking up and getting to the office at 8am on a Saturday to help my emergency. Dr. Jana is very skilled and has experience with anesthesiology and oral surgery. Because of their skill, kindness, and quickness to respond, I would recommend this place to anyone.

I used this place for years and the facilities are nice and the staff are friendly. But they will talk you into getting procedures and accessories that are totally unnecessary and of course, expensive. Unfortunately I learned of this far too late. Go somewhere a bit more honest and save yourself some money and time.
