This was my first annual dental exam and cleaning appointment. I took the appointment over phone and Kathy was super helpful to accommodate me within 1 week. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The Doctor and the Hygienist both were really nice - which made the entire duration quite comfortable. I am going back there for the next appointment soon.

Dr. D'Angelo is such an amazing DR and man. So kind and actually listened to me rather than rushing me through like a number like so many other offices do. The staff is actually friendly and greets you when you walk in. Gianna is such an awesome hygienist knowledgable, kind, and efficient. I really have no complaints! I had such a HORRIBLE experience where dentists would try to up sell me (at a different office) and I felt educated, heard, and respected at Dr. D'Angelo's office. My teeth are clean and I am happy from the amazing service! I highly recommend.

My first visit with Dr. D'Angelo was a delightful experience. He was thorough and professional beyond my expectation. I had a full checkup with x-rays. It was my first experience with digital x-ray technology. So much easier and more comfortable than film. They had my old film from my prior dentist, and the contrast in clarity was so much better. I don't have any major problems, so they didn't recommend any unnecessary procedures. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Happy that I made the switch.

I cant find enough positive words to say about Dr. Joe, Dr. Olson, Dr. Hoffman, and their extraordinary staff. I know not everyone loves going to the dentist, but I DO! This office makes my visits so pleasant. And the wonderful new news out of their office is that they're now open on Saturdays, so I no longer have to stress about missing work in order to see the dentist. Everyone is wonderful and knowledgeable and they all answer my many questions. And they will never try to "up-sell" you on something you don't need. I once asked about teeth whitening and Dr. Joe looked right at me and told me I didn't really need it. I so appreciated that. If you're in the market for a new dentist, go see these guys. They're amazing. :)

I absolutely love this dentist. I move around a lot and I have had many dentists over the years and Dr Nettleton has been my favorite. I always trusted her opinion and her ethics. Dental offices now a days always seem to want to sell something or have that business mentality but this office felt friendly and like they really cared about my health. I recommend her to everybody in the area. Plus the location is amazing, its like 4 blocks from the shore.

Since going to Joe The Dentist I went elsewhere and got a Cone Beam scan done as well as thermography imaging of my face and came up with proof of my prior conclusions that the extreme symptoms I was experiencing in my head, chest, and other parts of my body is indeed related to periodontal infections in my mouth. Apparently the technology and diagnostics done at Joe The Dentists wasn't enough for them to come to the conclusions I had come to. However, when someone shares symptoms where lips go numb and pain occurs in the mouth at same time that pain travels into the rest of the head, chest, and other parts of the body that is a sure sigh there is something going on that shouldn't be ignored. Unfortunately it was dismissed that my symptoms had anything to do with my teeth by the dentist there. What I was told was I'd need a cavity cleaned out of 2 teeth and a crown placed on them. However, what was discovered from the thermography scan conducted was the infections found in my mouth to be causing inflammation that flows into other parts of my body is not just from the two teeth that Joe the Dentist wrote up. Having said all this, I highly suggest other methods of testing be included in the diagnosis and treatment at Joe The Dentist facility to give them the edge over other dentist offices and allow them to get to the real root cause for patients so as to help get problems solved before they get worse in patients' bodies.

First class! From the time you walk into the lovely offices and are greeted by name you instantly feel comfortable. My hygienist Karen was so professional and my cleaning was pain free. Would highly recommend!

I have been a patient of Dr. D'Angelo and Dr. Olson for quite a while now. First off, I have to say I love the feeling when you walk into their office I feel like I have walked into a good friends home. The staff is by far the friendliest I've experienced in any Dr office. The Dr's and staff really know how to make you feel at ease especially when you are sitting in that dental chair. The hygienists are amazing! I have even converted my nervous mom who used to hate going to the dentists, to being such a good patient, thanks to Dr D & Karen. Both Dr's do incredible work. They have a true passion for dentistry and it shows in their work.

Recently returned back to Dr. D'Angelo after 16 years (I had moved and lived in Hawaii). The services are still outstanding! Just like I remembered, but the office is even larger and better equipped. I used to refer friends back in old days and would do the same today.

I love Dr. D'Angelo and everyone in his team. I have been going to him for almost 2 years. Every single time the services have been extraordinary. I have gotten my quarterly cleanings, some major dental work (veneers, crowns, etc), invisilign. The results of the major dental work have been amazing. Dr. D'angelo took a lot of time to design the perfect plan to fix all my teeth as I had been neglecting them for a long time. Now, My teeth look great and it was after a very strategic and perfectly executed plan. My husband has just started going to him too and loves them. He had been very happy somewhere else for many years but when he heard me speak about D'Angelo, he tried them and now he has moved and happy to have done it. I will be happy to answer any questions because they are amazing and you deserve the best. Every one in the staff is super friendly, caring and professional. Plus they do their jobs with perfection. Their facility is also very well equipped, comfortable and clean. They are always on time.

The office staff is beyond amazing and extremely helpful. Dr. Nettleton is incredible! They are always so friendly and professional. I would recommend anyone and everyone to this office. Thank you for taking such good care of me and my teeth! Looking forward to going back for another cleaning!

I'm incredibly impressed with this dentist office. I'm the biggest scared cat when it comes to dentists and this place has literally left me speechless. Dr. Ashley Olson is outstanding. I called her a dental angel. The sweetest and most sincere dentist I've ever met in my life. I'm thrilled they take my insurance so I can come here for any dental work I may need. The whole staff, Lexi and Desiree are the sweetest too. This place deserves all the praise in the world. I was a panic stricken mess when I first walked in and actually left calm happy and confident in what they have planned for me. Thank you to the wonderful team here! I am absolutely in awe of how amazing Ashley and the team are. If more dentists were like them, it would really make a huge impact on people going to the dentist more often.

Dr. DeAngelo and his staff truly deserve a five star rating. Every staff member is friendly and professional. I never feel rushed, yet everyone is efficient and respectful of my time. The hygienists are meticulous but gentle and have been a wealth of knowledge and taught me how to maintain my dental health at home. Dr. DeAngelo is genuinely a nice guy and great conversationalist but more importantly I trust him implicitly with my dental health and any cosmetic procedures. He is also a wealth of knowledge and it's obvious he is on the cutting edge of dentistry and surgical dentistry. He has fixed a number of large tooth chips and helped make my teeth more vibrant and white, yet so natural looking with various in clinic procedures and at home whitening kits. I suffer from TMJ and never have issues with my jaw hurting after a dental visit. My night guard is so comfortable; Dr. DeAngelo explained my options for guards and the benefits of each so I could make an informed decision. I have also seen Dr. Olsen, she makes you feel so comfortable, is positive and warm, yet most importantly is an excellent dentist whom I equally trust. I love that the office is spacious, clean, warm (no sterile lighting) and calm... because everyone knows a visit to the dentist can cause anxiety, though I never feel this way with Dr. DeAngelo or Dr. Olsen. I lived in Los Angeles for three years and would drive to San Diego for visits as I don't trust anyone else with my teeth. I always get compliments on my teeth and when working in commercial advertising I did a number of commercials specifically focused on my smile and teeth. I've referred all my local family and friends and highly recommend this office to anyone who's looking.

I normally have a lot of anxiety about going to a dentist, but I've never felt that when going to see Dr. D'Angelo. His staff are so incredibly friendly and the office is so relaxing. There is almost a spa like quality to everything. I also really love how high tech everything is. From the digital X-rays, to the computerized medical records and even the flat panel TV's on the ceiling. When I was briefly on another dental plan that did not cover Dr. Joe I tried out another dentist that was covered. The whole experience was quite awful and I opted to return to Dr. D'Angelo and pay out of pocket for my cleanings. Thankfully I've returned to a plan that includes Dr. Joe so if I ever have a dental emergency I won't have to go to a third rate dentist. You can rest easy knowing you're smile is in Dr. Joe's capable hands!

I've finally found a dentist I have complete confidence in and I'm so excited to be moving ahead on Invisalign and veneers to create a healthy and beautiful smile! I'd been considering correcting some dental issues for some time. (large spaces, old bonds, turned and tilted teeth. Taken altogether my smile was affecting my confidence and willingness to openly laugh and smile) But I knew I couldn't move ahead until I was sure that I was in the best of hands. With Dr. D'Angelo I've found a dentist that I know I can put my full trust in. At first I was hesitant to commit to work that would require me to make the 6 hour drive from my town in Northern California to La Jolla, but then it became obvious to me that it was worth it to have the best dentist, for work that will last many years and have such a huge impact on the long-term health of my teeth, along with my self-confidence and all that's tied to that. Dr. D'Angelo is clearly committed to practicing the best dentistry for each patient. He put many hours into coming up with the right plan for me and I couldn't be more excited. His enthusiasm for the best outcome is obvious. The entire staff at Dr. D'Angelo's office is warm and friendly and the quality of care superlative. They appear to do their work joyfully and without stress even on days when they are very busy. I've never felt that they don't have the time for me or that my questions and concerns deserve anything less then their full attention. I highly recommend Dr. D'Angelo. The combination of professionalism, intelligence, competency and sincere concern for each patient makes for the sort of dentist everyone should hope to have on their health team.

Dr. Joe saved me from a previous dentist who let my dental health fade for many years. When I first came in to see Dr. Joe, he and his staff were shocked at the state of my teeth and they got to work right away to fix them. They came up with a plan over the course of 2-3 years and fixed everything in thoughtful steps - they made sure to work with my insurance timing as well to save me some money. Their office staff is friendly and they know you by name. The office is very comfortable and you get to watch TV while you're in the chair, so you barely notice the work that is being done. I highly recommend Dr. Joe and Dr. Olson - I actually enjoy going to see the dentist because of them!

Dr Nettleton is very graceful, skillful and conservative. She does not perform or suggest procedures which are not necessary, and the prices are fair, not over inflated or dependent on care credit. There is no hard sell "programs" at this dentist. Her hygienist is thorough and equally graceful, as well as careful not to cause undue injury during cleanings. Her front desk staff is capable, welcoming, and they preauthorize work with insurance so you aren't surprised. Very well organized. I have had bad experiences with other "big business" dentists whom all seem to take the same classes on business planning. But at Dr Nettleton, you get care, not care credit rammed down your throat. :)

A very fine family dentistry with professional attentiveness, genuine rapport for patients and children patients, and ethical billing practices. Trust is everything when you go to a medical office and our family has trusted Dr. Nettleton for over a decade and a half. The location is highly desirable and the intimate ambience one of quaint La Jolla in yesteryear.

I can't believe I'm reviewing a dentist, but I am extremely impressed with Dr. D'Angelo and his staff! My girlfriend is a patient of his we are both very happy with the high level of care and results so far - he's definitely one of the best in San Diego, especially after being to some (dare I say) not-so-great dentists in our fine city. I actually feel comfortable in his office - it's clean, professional, and high tech (and this from an IT professional). At the end of the day I am extremely satisfied with the care and value of Dr. D'Angelo's dentistry - you get the quality and care you pay for. Ultimately we want beautiful smiles done right and Dr. D'Angelo makes this happen. Highly Recommended.

I love Joe and Ashley! They are always so kind and are as gentle as possible and always talk me down when I'm nervous. I got my wisdom teeth removed by Joe and my face didn't swell at all, I didn't need any sort of painkillers besides Advil, and I was able to eat sushi the next night. Joe is so helpful he even answered my dental questions when I called him from school in New York. I've been seeing him for nearly 15 years and will continue to come back for a long time! The entire staff is also great. Definitely recommended!!! I love my smile thanks to Joe!

Great Dentistry, I came in the night after being elbowed in my big front tooth and the same day I called they were able to see me. The staff is extremely helpful and caring. If your finances need help as I did because I am in between jobs they are willing to work with you! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks again Kathy, Mary, Lexi, Dr. Joseph, and Dr. Hoffman!
