The New Image Dental clinic in Mission Valley, San Diego, offers expert dental solutions in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, and other areas of dentistry. The clinic’s core team comprises of three family and cosmetic dentists—Dr. Leslie Strommer, Dr. Scott Strommer, and Dr. John Y. Kim.
Dr. Leslie Strommer is a UCLA and KOIS Center Graduate, Secretary of the Board of Director at San Diego Health Foundation, and was inspired to take up dentistry after childhood interactions with a family dentist. She’s married to Dr. Scott Strommer with whom she has two sons.
Dr. Scott Strommer is a UCLA Graduate, a KOIS Center Clinical Instructor, a CEREC Advanced Trainer, has a professorship at UCSD, and gives back at Student-Run Free Clinics. Hailing from San Diego, over the past 25 years, Dr. Strommer has used his top quality certifications and training to offer dentistry services to patients.
Dr. John Y. Kim, originally from South Korea, comes from a family of dentists. He attended the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, attained advanced education in General Dentistry Program & Specialty Training in Prosthodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and the finished his Dental Implant Surgical Training Program at the New York Dental School.

Dr. Scott and Dr. Leslie are pretty awesome at what they do. She rocks! They give you a cute gerber daisy to take home every time you come in The only minus- and why its a 4 star instead of 5- They are pushy/weird about money. I am a teacher and have pretty decent dental insurance but somehow I get charged for things not covered by my insurance (which shouldn't happen as my insurance covers everything up to $1500 and then I have to pay out of pocket). I have referred three of my friends here and we all agree on this point, so I know its not just me being cheap. I work hard for my benefits and unless I have a dental emergency of some kind, I don't want to spend money on my routine dental work, and I shouldn't be made to feel guilty about that. Aside from that- I love this dentist. I have been to a few because I am so fearful of them, and New Image is by far is the best I have experienced. I had two fillings done in November and Dr. Scott was an absolute pro. He knew how freaked I was at the drill and the shots of novocaine and did his best to try and put me at ease. Hats off to him- because that isn't easy! :) N

Wow! Truly an amazing dental experience. The staff is not only beyond friendly but also very professional and do an exceptional job. Julie worked on my teeth and I really enjoyed how she explained everything to me and even showed pictures along the way. They have fascinating technology and show you multiple pictures of your mouth which are very effective to help explain how you can improve your brushing and flossing routine. I was not a big fan of going to the dentist before going here due to long waits and uncomfortable conditions. 1800Dentist recommended I give New Image Dental a try and I am so glad I did. At New Image Dental they respect your time and give you 100% attention and make you feel comfortable the whole time. There are even TV's on the ceiling so you can be entertained as you are getting worked on. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family.

I just had my first appointment today and this place is hands down amazing. The receptionist has been super friendly and nice, leading up to my appointment, getting my insurance and paperwork in order. The Dr. was great, he really explained everything! His assistant and the hygienist were both very thorough, gentle and nice. You get to watch your own TV, with your own head phones while they are cleaning which is always nice. I have had some poor dental experiences at other offices before so I am so happy to have found New Image Dental and call them my new home. :)

I can honestly say this was such a great experience. I had more of a emergency situation. They were so comforting, took me right in, and helped me. The dentist for some, including myself can be quite the anxious experience BUT not here. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Offered me water, a blanket if I was cold, talked me though everything, and treated me like a close friend rather than a patient. It felt great. They care for their patients greatly, it's obvious in their actions. I won't go anywhere else now. So happy to have found such a wonderful and talented team. Book your appointment. I have been a patient at New Image Dental for more than 20 years. (That alone should speak for how much my family and I value this dental practice!) The staff at the front desk and in the back office (Marcia and Hillary) are courteous, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about insurance coverage. My incredible dental hygienist (Julie) gets my teeth so clean that they squeak when she's done. Maricela is an excellent and professional dental assistant who is so good she could probably pass as a dentist. And let's not forget the doctors -- husband and wife, Drs. Scott and Leslie Strommer. They are the best of the best: friendly, caring, professional, knowledgeable, technically savvy, and excellent general and cosmetic dentists. By the way, I just had veneers created for me by Dr. Scott last week and they are so beautiful I can't stop smiling :-)

New Image is the best. I have been a patient for at least 5 years and I will never go anywhere else. I live in north county and make the 20-30 minute drive to get my dental work done here. The staff is extremely friendly and make you feel very comfortable. They also always have the latest in technology to provide their patients with the best. I always see Julie and she is awesome! It's like talking to an old friend:) They specialize in sedation dentistry, which is how my husband found them. He was an extremely nervous patient at first (due to bad experiences growing up with dentists in Switzerland), however because he feels completely comfortable he no longer needs sedation for teeth cleanings! I refer everyone I know to them because I know New Image will take great care of them!

Outstanding service!! Had to be one of the best teeth cleanings I've ever had! I'm so afraid of the dentist but this place has made me feel so comfortable in the last couple of months. customers service is the best, they make sure that you feel comfortable and that you are well taken care of. I had a cleaning today and it had to be one of the best I've ever had. The hygienist was very professional, knowledgable, and gentle. It was a great experience today, not saying I'm not still afraid but I was relaxed today because they make you feel that way. I would recommend this place they do it right and they are good!!

Wonderful dental office! Went in for a new patient exam and was more than impressed with the kindness, professionalism, and competency of the entire staff. I am a middle-aged woman with more crowns and root canals than real teeth. The staff made me feel welcome and not a dental freak, and after thoroughly reviewing my mouth, providing a pain-free cleaning, gave me the best news --- no dental issues right now - yea - but with a caveat to stay vigilant and keep up the proper dental upkeep. I highly recommend this place, and in fact, was referred there myself from a friend in the dental field who knows the good practices - and this is one very good practice.

New Image Dental, the office of Dr. Scott & Dr. Leslie Strommer, utilizes CEREC OmniCam CAD/CAM System to make a crown ... Single Visit Dentistry meaning you come in for 1 appointment NOT 2 appointments. The office further shared they also have the 3D Imaging Technology too which allows the doctors to see more and even place a dental implant exactly where it needs to be for best outcome. Great group of professionals worthy of your own personal tour just call them as they are really friendly.

I really am one of those people that hate going to the dentist! I hate the needle, I hate having my mouth open for so long....I usually ask for the laughing gas or something stronger. Well this time I decided not to go that route and spend the extra money because of how the staff was with me! I had a deep periodontal cleaning (no fun!) and Courtney was AMAZING! Then today I went to get some cavities filled and Leslie and her assistant (sorrrrry I forgot your name) was amazing...again! And I got to catch up on HGTV shows (the have TV's in the ceiling!! My son and I went to New Image Dental for a first appointment for a cleaning and exam. From beginning to the end of our appointments the experience was phenomenal. The first thing I noticed was their customer service, their friendliness and the way they truly cared about us. The exam was completely thorough and the technology that they use is state of the art. I have to say this was probably the best visit I have ever had at the dentist. I was not sure what I was expecting with a routine check up, but from the moment that I scheduled my appointment, to time I left, I was highly impressed with the level of professionalism and courtesy! The staff was very clear and detailed with what procedures they were doing and why they were doing them. I also respected the way they consulted me as a patient to find out how they could best serve me. Overall, I thought this business was very detailed, organized and very respectful. Most importantly, I have to give them a 5 star for trustworthiness. In addition to walking me through everything they did, they made the procedure very interactive with imaging and detailed explanation. I never once felt like I was being misled, or being haggled with as I have experienced with others. This was my first visit and this will definitely be my long time dentist!

New Image Dental is the best dentist I've ever been to. They make you feel comfortable and welcomed. While I was waiting for my appointment, another man had been waiting for longer than expected, knowing this, the receptionist gave the man a Starbucks gift card and said "have some coffee on us - we know you've been waiting for a little while." No matter which hygienist helps me, they are always pleasant and friendly. The office even gives you a flower every time you go. They're awesome!

Still a big fan of New Image Dental. The entire staff is really nice and seems to really care about whether patients are doing well. For instance, during my cleaning yesterday, the hygienist continually asked me if I was doing OK rather than just mindlessly proceeding. I have referred people to Drs. Seriously, best dental office in Mission Valley. The awesome, friendly staff really makes sure you have a good experience and that you know what's going on in your mouth and even with your insurance. I hadn't gone to the dentist in years because my previous doctors weren't all that great. I showed up requiring a lot of work. So far with all the work I had done, I can honestly say that the doctors, techs, and office staff have helped me feel more and more comfortable coming to the dentist. So far, I've had cleanings, fillings, and am starting on orthodontia. Each experience has been great! As a plus, They have TV's in the ceilings and headphones, so you can watch sports highlight and drown out all the work happening in your mouth. Highly recommend going to these guys!

I've been a patient of both Dr. Leslie and Dr. Scott for around 4 years. I was attracted to their dental practice due to their continued training and teaching but have stayed because they have an exceptional, well trained, and friendly staff. At each of my cleanings they do a gum check and laser treatment to reduce inflammation. They are conservative and only recommend things if absolutely necessary. I typically see Julie for my hygienist appointment and she is fantastic. I had to get my first crown 3 months ago. I don't particularly enjoy going to the dentist and the idea of the procedure made me a little anxious. The treatment in retrospect was really easy. They use 3D printing technology in their office that allows the dental implant to be made and placed in the same visit. Start to finish was under 2 hours. It's hard to find good people that value their patients, are talented at their work, and are ethical. New Image Dental fits the bill. I've recommended them to at least a dozen friends and patients of my own.

As always, a great visit. Three years ago, I got my nightgaurd. It lasted 3 years, before I stupidly dropped it on the ground and it broke in two. It had way more life left in it, because that is the quality of the work in this office. Needless to say, I came back to have another one made. Just gotta work on my butterfingers. Lolz. From my initial consultation appointment to " sit in the chair day", I felt comfortable and well taken care of at New Image Dental. The desk staff is friendly and helpful, the office space is beautiful and the crown work I had done was painless, fast and comfortable. Dr. Scott and his assistant Brian were wonderful. They explained every detail and made sure I was comfortable from the time I walked in the treatment room until I left. New Image Dental go out of their way to give you a pleasant dental experience. I only went for a consultation and I really liked the staff but did not end up going to this dentist despite the fact that he gave me a lot of time and a good impression. I think he's a great dentist by what I can tell but I think he assumed I was bulemic because I had worn tooth enamel and told him I like to overeat on desserts!!!! (who doesn't?). I told him I was not but later he referred to it again as if saying I was. Things that made me go "Hm".
