Dr. Mark Packard is part of a family dental practice that goes all the way back to 1963. He is a second-generation dentist and offers quality dental care in the areas of orthodontics, implant dentistry, sleep apnea treatment, family-friendly care, cosmetic dentistry, mercury-free care, smile-whitening, dental crowns, and dental bridges at his dental office Packard Dental.
A devout Christian, Dr. Packard, apart from resolving all your dental needs involves himself in his congregation at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also serves as Carlsbad City Councilman. Dr. Mark Packard also enjoys the time spent on caring and being with his 13 grandchildren.

Excellent quality care here. I previously was told I had four cavities at a different dentist, and came here for a second opinion. Dr. Matt looked at my x-rays and teeth and found only one of my old fillings that needed to be redone. Since the filling was about 20 years old, this was understandable, and the rest of my teeth looked fine! All of the assistants and my hygienist, Kendra, were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms have windows with a great view and a big screen TV to entertain you while getting your teeth cleaned. I highly recommend this group!

A year later and still wish I could give 10 stars; I stand by everything I said in my precious review. This place ROCKS. Every person in the office is upbeat, friendly, and caring. Nicole is the best hygienist ever and I always know I'm in good hands with her. There were some issues with my gums last week when I came in, so Nicole consulted with Dr. Matt and then they both talked to me about what my options were and what they thought was best. I had the recommended procedure done this morning and while I wouldn't say it was pleasant, I was able to get through it without nitrous or numbing. They offered me both, but I wanted to see how I'd do. They have fantastic topical anesthetic; add that to deep breathing and Nicole's kindness and care throughout, and I was able to avoid the extra drugs. Grateful!!

Love Packard Dental! Love the doctors, hygienists, assistants and atmosphere there too. They are all so pleasant and make me feel comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Jared did a crown on one of my teeth because a piece had broken off. It was done in one visit and my tooth is as good as new. Have been going to Packard Dental for years and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dr. Matt (and Dr. Jared) are amazing, and so are their staff! We've been going to them for years, and my husband and I love that you see the same dental hygienist every time you go in. Even by just going in every six months, Tiffany (my dental hygienist) remembers me and we catch up on each other's lives. My little boys (6 and 3) love Dr. Matt, too. When my 6 year old (who has Asperger's) had to get his two front teeth pulled, Dr. Matt was gentle and kept him calm throughout the whole process - that's not always an easy feat. :) Packard Dental is amazing!

I moved a lot in my life and have seen several different dentists along the way. I recently went to see Dr. Matt as a new patient. It was a great experience. The office is clean, friendly and well managed. I had something come up and was running late. They were very accommodating and found a way to make things work. Dr. Matt and the others I worked with were helpful and took their time with things. I would highly recommend their office!

Absolutely love Packard Dental. I've been looking around for different ortho places for my 10 yr old. Packard dental was the 4th spot we had been to. Right when we got there, immediately, I loved it. Clean place, friendly staff, bright decor, quiet/relaxing ambiance. They have a mini fridge with complimentary water bottles, books for the little ones, and magazines for the rest. Everything looks so "state of the art". Beautiful dental office, to say the least. Dr. Jarred is really great and made us feel comfortable with the details of our consultation. Everything seemed to be so perfect I was afraid their prices were going to be through the roof. Especially because it was in Carlsbad (well known beach city). But to my surprise they were actually less money than anticipated! I paid right then & there! So stoked! A couple weeks later (due to holiday madness) My daughter now has begun her first phase of orthodontic treatment!

Here for my last appointment. I had a root canal and i was soooo nervous about it. Its actually not bad. Glad my husband made me do it. This place is so clean and comfortable. Now time for my new tooth ! Super siked thanks guys.

My first time at Packard Dental and definitely feel like I've been treated like a rock star! Usually, I'm very apprehensive of coming to the dentist, but these folks have treated me right from square one. Plus, everything is modern and doesn't feel like I'm still getting dental care in the 70s. I highly recommend this place and will plan on coming here twice a year...unlike my past.

I'm writing this review from the office as I wait for my appointment. A client is trying to schedule an appointments for her kids and I just wanted to comment at how great and flexible this office is. Dr. Jared is looking through the schedule himself and rearranging things to make it work for her schedule. From what I can tell her kids are very busy and she isn't willing to let them miss practice, so the office is being very accommodating for her. Kudos to them, and she is lucky.

Wow, am I ever glad that I found Packard Dental!! I feel more like a part of a great family, than the fact that I am actually going in for a dental appointment! Chelsie meets me (at the front desk as I came in) with a huge smile and is very friendly and accommodating. Melanie and Erica, always so happy, have been Dr, Matt's assistants during my visits. I look forward to coming in every 4 months so Nicole can clean and assess my teeth.......... ..................and then there is Dr. MATT!!!! When I left Monterey, I thought I would never find a Dentist like I had there. Every one of my criteria and wishes are met by Dr. Matt's wonderful mannerism and honesty! Best dental experience ever! I have an irrational fear of the dentist, and contacted their office because of some tooth pain. They were able to get me in that morning. I was able to see Dr. Jared, and they got me in and out in under an hour. Everyone in the office is super nice, and helpful?, and made me feel super comfortable. I will definitely be back, and have already scheduled my first cleaning!

Packard Dental has an awesome and friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They make you feel like family here, and they work hard to make sure you get the best care possible. Their facilities and equipment seem very high-tech and up-to-date. The completed my final phase of my Invisaling treatment everything came out perfect !! These guys know what they're doing! Today was my first appointment with Packard dental. It is very safe to say I will be keeping my next check up appointment in 6 months. Wonderful experience from check in to check out. No complaints on my end. My dental assistant (I cannot remember her name:(, Dr. Matt and Kendra were very informative, kind, and efficient. I was greeted with a smile and the visit also ended with a smile on check out. I am a medical professional myself, and it means a great deal to me to have such a caring staff who obviously work well as a team who are fully invested in dental care, and enjoy what they do. If I could leave more stars, I would. One of the other dentists who I didn't even have an appointment with said hello and spoke with me for a short time when I was checking out. Highly recommend if you're new to the area, or looking for a different dentist.

We love this office! They were wonderful with my kids and so helpful when my husband needed quick assistance with a tooth infection. My kids have always been fearful of any Dr. office so I was worried how they would do with the dentist but Nicole made my daughter feel so comfortable during her first cleaning and took her time to let her warm up to the new setting. She had great tricks to get kids comfortable with the tools she was using and my daughter left saying her favorite part of the visit was getting to count her teeth! I can't say enough good things about this group! The staff if friendly, doctors are knowledgeable and fun, and office is new and clean!

Since day one, I have loved this place. Always so nice and they do an amazing job! I can go on and on all day and it still wouldn't do justice. Dr Jared and his crew at amazing. My whole family uses this office! My 9 & 6 year feel so comfortable with the staff and actually look forward to coming in for their visits! We are having the best experience with my sons orthodontic work. We checked into a couple other offices, Dr J had the best most comfortable plan for my son.

I needed to get a tooth checked out and stopped in after reading the reviews. I didn't have insurance, but they offer their own in house version which was a nice feature and it includes 2 cleanings+checkups per year too. Everyone I've dealt with have been really nice here, and I like that they walked me through each step they were taking when working on my teeth. This place is pretty high tech also. You get your own TV to watch while you're getting work done, and all the x-ray stuff is done digitally. I had to get some crowns put on, and they were made right there in the little machine near the front desk. It was pretty neat to see the crown get made on the computer before it got sent to the shaping thing. They also send you directions on caring for the new crown after you leave which is pretty handy if you didn't catch it the first time. Overall this place has been pretty nice and I recommend it to anyone. If you're someone that doesn't like going to the dentist, you might change your mind after having your first checkup!

I have been looking for a family dentist that we all can use and trust since moving from one we used for over 15 years in Seattle. This family owned and operated dental office is fantastic! Our experiences with everyone in this office have been nothing but stellar. We really appreciate the professional office staff and the caring and competent dental hygienists. Dr. Jared and Dr. Matt Packard are knowledgeable, professional and take time with each patient. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone looking.

I love going to the dentist. They are professional and friendly and, quite frankly, wonderful. I know I haven't had major work done, but regular cleanings (Cheers to Tiffany!!) and check-ups (Cheers to Dr. Jared!) have been perfect. Dr. Jared did a tiny filling on me a few years ago and I didn't even use novocaine - woop, woop! Thanks, Dr. Jared! Most recently, I received the laser cleaning treatment which worked quite well. I've lived outside of Carlsbad for a decade and now I live overseas, but I keep coming back to... my friends. My professional, helpful, friendly, dentist and hygienist. I take all 3 if my kids here they absolutely love it. My middle child has a bit of a dramatic side and tends to freak out at any Dr office however, at Packard Dental she is comfortable and calm. Thank you to everyone there for making it so easy to get my kids to go to the dentist.
