I had about a week before I was moving out of town and losing my dental insurance, and Dr. Pastel and his colleagues were able to get me in for a consultation and then get me scheduled to fill the worst of my cavities over two more visits. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating even with my crazy time line.

I put two different crowns on my front tooth with different dentist and wasn't happy with their work. I was very lucky to find Doctor Pastel, he was very professional and did an amazing job, he didn't stop till it was perfect and I know that crowns for the front tooth can get very tricky. I highly recommend this place!

The best dentistry in the Bay Area! There are highly qualified specialists and high-tech equipment. Dr. Alex Pastel is an excellent dentist, and Julia always offers the best schedule of treatment. Friendly and welcoming environment!

Great experience! They were able to fit me in last minute which I really appreciated and the staff (receptionist, hygienist and dentist) were very nice. I also have a very sensitive mouth (gum recession) and the hygienist was patient and gave me topical numbing beforehand. I've been to a dozen different dentists before and this is one of the best!

Consistent excellent service, friendly and warm environment, they are very easy to talk to and Dr Pastel work is amazing. Love coming here, and my husband who used to avoid dentists actually goes in without a second thought.

Great office!! Dr. Fung was extremely warm and professional, and is clearly a skilled dentist. She made me feel at ease in the chair, and after my exam she pointed out some areas that I need to pay attention to in order to avoid cavities. I really appreciate that she is looking out for my health and showed that she cares about her patients. The front desk was very welcoming and Julia runs the office like a pro! Very highly recommended!

Dr. Pastel is a fantastic Dentist. I am deeply cautious and suspicious about dentists and their approach to treating my teeth. Alex is the dentist that is worth your try and trust. Firstly, very convenient scheduling, next the treatment plan is also conveniently developed. Amazingly done anesthesia, which stopped 15 minutes after I left the office. He even showed me the process how the crown is done in a special machine. Great experience and amazing result. Thank you.

Dr Alex Pastel is lightening fast! This place is run like a well oiled machine. Everyone is helpful and is impeccably well staffed. They have 2-3 front desk staff, 2 dental assistants, and one hygienist for cleanings to assist Dr Pastel. The miracle is that when he numbed me up for my shot. He only numbed the spot where he needed so I could eat after. Thanks Dr. Pastel and team over at Pastel dental! You made my dental experience as quick and painless as possible.

I've been putting off going to the dentist for ~8 years, since during college, mostly due to laziness, moving around, etc. I recently got a slight sensitivity in one of my molars so I knew it was time to go in. Being a new patient and experiencing slight pain, I was able to get an emergency checkup within a couple days and Dr. Alex checked things out and determined I did not need an emergency procedure. This immediately put me at ease. I scheduled my first cleaning and checkup 3 months later, I've had my ~10 fillings in 3 sessions and am no longer experiencing any pain. The fillings were a breeze, I overheard one patient leaving who just had a root canal that it was less pain and simpler than getting a filling. His office is right off Geary and I've never had a problem parking (I usually grab a meter but there is street parking on the off streets). I highly recommend Pastel and will be going back as long as I'm in the area.

I had a great experience! I recommend everyone to come here. Pastel is the best in San Francisco, there is no one better. I got my Veneers done on my front teeth and they look absolutely terrific, I am so happy with my smile and few super great. They are so nice and helpful with everything. I love this place! Why? A friendly and welcoming receptionist, an awesome dentist that really cares about his clients, the easy accessibility, the cheap price for the quality service you get, and the amazing follow up. I went there a month ago for the first time, because I needed to see a dentist in San Francisco due to complications from my wisdom teeth extraction in Quebec. They have been so kind and understanding with me: after the first visit, I came back 3 times to get a look from the dentist, and they have always been able to add me last minute on their schedule, without even charging me the short visits. I had the feeling that they wanted to solve my problem as much as I did. Thank you so much to all the Staff, I really appreciate your services :)

Dr Alex is a soft spoken man who knows what he's doing. He's quick and efficient and engaged in the right amount of small talk. His wife runs the front desk and she's friendly and ready to help you with your insurance woes! The only thing is that his DA did my polishing instead of him, and she can be quite rough with the suction. My recommendation will probably increase with more visits.

Wow! So friendly and professional. I really appreciate how open they were with me about my options and financial alternatives, knowing full well that I am moving at the end of the month and therefore will likely use another dentist for the work I need. The representatives at the front desk proffered my treatment plan and X-rays via email, and they suggested alternate insurance plans. Furthermore, I was really happy with my cleaning, x-rays and exam. The package came to $140 total. Not bad compared to what several other practices in the area quoted me, not to mention that my dental coverage is the worst (Kaiser Permanente Delta Dental - KPIC north).

I have been a patient of Dr Pastel and Julie since they opened their practice and speaking as someone who has had excellent dental care, for very bad teeth, for many years - Dr Pastel is absolutely first rate. He actually likes being a dentist, and you know he really cares about you and about your teeth. And everyone is so friendly.

I went to a few dental places to get different opinions and I received: "you have 3 teeth where root canal removal is not avoidable". I started searching for alternative opinions. This is when I met Alex Pastel and his team of highly skilled professionals. Alex saved a few teeth of mine that supposed to be candidates for a root canal removal. After Alex treatment, I have my teeth repaired without root canal invasion. It's been a year since then and I feel great and my teeth looks stunning. So apparently expensive SOMA dentist offices where I collected first opinions did not really care if they "kill" one or two root canals in my mouth. And they didn't really care how I feel about it because they have plenty of customers who would listen to their staff and will not be argue and looking for better solutions. Why would they care if their location supplies them with a pipeline filled with busy caltrain commuters. If not me, then others already in line. I appreciate Dr. Pastel's knowledge and professionalism and very happy that I was referred to the right dentist who cares.

Dr. Alex and his entire staff are warm, welcoming and make the dentist a place I actually want to go to! His team is really quick and efficient with their cleaning, and Dr. Alex is realistic in his evaluations -- interesting in fixing issues but not going to upsell you just to make himself $$$. The team is also extremely accommodating for last minute needs, and was able to slot me in one afternoon when I had a pain come up that morning. Can't believe I found a dentist I actually love!

With it being the end of the year, I was having trouble finding an available dentist for a check up and and consultation on some work needed. The ladies at the front desk were so helpful. They were booked solid, but said that they could contact me if there was a cencellation. Luckily there was an opening! I went in 12/16/16 for an afternoon appointment. There was parking directly in front of the office. I was greeted kindly, waited less than 10 minutes before I was in the chair and getting my cleaning done. Most importantly, the office was clean and Dr. Pastel and his staff were so gentle and professional. I didn't feel a thing! Highly recommended to all, especially if you have a fear of going to the dentist. Thank you Pastel Dental!

This is my first Yelp review but I absolutely needed to write one to show my great appreciation to Pastel Dental. From the beginning of the visit to the end, the people who worked there were very friendly and helpful. The dentist took extra care to clean my teeth and teach me some dentistry on the side (there was no pain at all)! In addition, the hygienist always made sure that I was OK, giving me a warm towel at the end to help wash up. To put it simply, I have never had such a pleasant dentist visit. I look forward to going back even though I will have some cavities that need to be worked on. Thank you Pastel Dental!

I just had a filling done by Dr. Alex Pastel a couple of weeks ago. First of all, he is a really nice guy- the friendliest dentist I have ever had. He made me feel really comfortable and most importantly was he able to diagnose a problem that my previous dentist completely missed. Plus, the procedure was not painful or uncomfortable. His office is clean and very professional, and his staff is also very friendly. I would definitely recommend Pastel Dental

Best Dental Experience I've ever had ! I came to this location for a cleaning after a couple years. Front desk staff was extremely friendly at checking ina no checking out . My cleaning was amazing , Dr. Pastel explained the process of what I needed to get done and what o could do at home ! I look forward to coming in for my next appointment . I would HIGHLY recommend making this your primary dental office .
