This is a great dentist, I go here regularly because I don't have insurance in the US and haven't for a long time. I have had fillings, root canals, crowns, and even an extraction done here this year. Every time the staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Silvia is a skilled dentist who really seems to care about her work. I have had some very long and difficult appointments but it really seems like she never skips a detail and won't stop until you're in good shape. I really appreciate that because I've had careless dentists cause problems for me in the past by doing lazy work. Their office and tools are better than any of the budget dentists I had been to in San Diego. Very fair prices. Definitely recommend these guys to anyone!

Are these real reviews? I wanted to know if you guys can help a friend of mine that needs to replace a lot of new crowns put in so terribly that she can't bite down. She's a Baja local and after months of pain and lies she is left with a worse situation and her back teeth don't even touch each other by a couple centimeters. Her front teeth are now really huge but her bottom front are twice as small as her normal teeth were and do not look like real teeth. After she spent thousands of dollars I'm hoping to help her by finding a dentist she can trust and that will offer discounts. It's sad how she only needed bonding with resin and now can only get crowns after her teeth were prepped for crowns. She trusts people too easily and now lost her natural smile forever. She is very depressed right now and has lost a lot of hope. Thank you.

I went to Universal Care Dental in Los Angeles,California for a broken molar on 6/14/2017 downtown and wen i got the estimate minimum of $6,000 and toll me my insurance didn't cover ,decided to set an appointment at Smile Tijuana and visit on Saturday 6/24/2017 stared the treatment ,i even got a estimate i was happy and decided to have Smile Tijuana do the work the savings are great as well the best treatment ,the office is like top of the line,service is highly professional staff ,they do speak english,you will save money and with a better smile then what the Americans dentist give you a large bill ,and regrets

I had so much anxiety coming here, not because it's in MX.. but because I am just afraid of dentist in general. . I have been in pain for over a year with this last week the worst I have felt the pain. I have been thru alot of bad experiences with dentist in California and that is why I waited so long to fix it. I had two panic attacks before she even touched me, that is how freaked out I was. DR. Criss had such a soft hand and I didn't even feel the pain of the shot either. Last night was my first night to not take any Tylenol and I got a good night rest. I still have alot of work to do but I won't go anywhere else but to Smile dentistry. My experience was equal to and better than my dentist experiences in Spokane, WA. The most modern office full of the latest technology. The staff was friendly and my dentist, Dr Zuniga, was great. As strange as this sounds, I really enjoy visiting my dentist - and it's mainly because of this place. I've spent the last two years getting orthodontic work at Smile Tijuana, and I always look forward to going there because it is friendly, professional and efficient. The biggest compliment I can give is that I recently moved to Ohio, but I will still commute to Tijuana to continue treatment, because of the quality of the work and the relatively low cost. The people at Smile Tijuana are professional, very kind, and do an excellent job all the way around! Dr. Criss Melendrez is an incredible dentist! I am honestly extremely satisfied with the service I have received so far. If you are someone like me, anxious and extremely worried, I hope that this review will put your mind at ease. I have had 6 appointments with Dr. Criss so far, and I have nothing negative to say about her, her office or her staff. I had a terrible experience 7 years ago with a dentist, and as a result of that, I didn't go to see anyone since that time. I was so anxious going down to Mexico, and getting work done there, that's one thing, and coming to see a dentist after the hell I had gone through in the U.S. My first appointment with her, I was honestly sweating and hyperventilating. Dr. Criss used aroma therapy, I can't say that it helped me relax too much, but she went above and beyond to make sure that I was ok. She allowed me to rest my mouth, we took frequent breaks, she took pictures and showed me what the problems were, she took the time to explain what she was doing and why. One of the bad cavities that she opened up ended up needing a root canal, so you can imagine my stress levels were through the roof. When I went back to get the post op, pin, and crown done, Dr. Criss opened up the tooth and she decided that it's best not to do a crown, because my tooth had internal resorption, and if she were to grind around the filling that the specialist had done, she would basically open up the tooth, which would cause a fracture and the crown wasn't the best option. I want to stress that the resorption wasn't caused because of the root canal specialist, it was because of the wisdom tooth that had been pressing against that tooth for years. Anyways, my point is, she could've easily charged me 650 for the crown/post up, but she didn't. She chose to do a filling for that tooth, because she believed that that tooth has a better chance to recover, than if she opens it up further. So she charged me 100 for a filling rather than the 650. Every decision that she's made so far about my teeth hasn't been dictated my money, I don't go to her office and feel like she's doing things and procedures that I need just to get money out of me. Some other notes about her office. It's very clean, modern, well kept. It's a small space, but they've made great use of it. There is music in the background, so that helps you relax. Lanna, the office receptionist/assistant, is pretty amazing as well. She'll go above and beyond to help you, whether that be give you directions, reply to emails or answer any questions that you might have. The office works with some American benefit companies, such as Aetna, you'll still have to pay out of pocket, but if you have a PPO plan you might be able to claim the work done. Dr. Criss has great prices, it's still WAY CHEAPER to get work done with her, than in the US with benefits :( The office is located about 5 minutes away from the border, there is a McDonald's right there, so you can park your car and it's safe. You can also walk over the border, take a taxi (like Taxi Libre) or even use Uber. From the border to the office it's 5 bucks for a taxi, 2 bucks with Uber. Dr. Criss Melendrez is very professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly understanding. I can't keep my mouth open for very long, so she works with me, let's me rest up in between procedures, take breaks. I can honestly say that my anxiety around the dentist is gone, I even laughed and joked around with her today. There is no pain during the fillings, pressure and discomfort yes, but you don't feel her drilling around or poking or anything like that. I very rarely find a doctor that I really like, but honestly guys, she is very good at what she does. You will get way better service here than in the U.S. Her office is almost never late with appointments, maybe 5, 10 minutes, and that has only happened once. Dr. Criss will only spend her time on you, she's not running from one room to another, and you are interacting with her, not the assistant. I highly recommend her and her team

When I tell people I go to the dentist in Tijuana I get varied looks of concern and unease. But I assure them that it is the best dental experience I have ever had. I did a lot of research before coming to this place and let me say that my expecations were far exceeded and beyond anything I could have imagined. With allt the 5 star reviews, they speak for themselves and every bit is true. The dentist was never the most fun place to go for me growing up, and as such, I neglected to take care of my teeth as well as I should have (I am now paying the price, litterally and figuretively. Lesson learned). However, Dr. Criss and team of staff put me at ease with their kindness, care, and cleanliness. They are holistic in their approach to dental work and do not like to do any unecessary procedures, which I prefer and agree with. I came in wanting to get my amalgam out (silver filings with mercury), fix a cracked crown, cleaning, and anything else that was necessary to get my teeth healthy and prepared for orthodontic work. After taking x-rays of my teeth she went over all the procedures that needed to be done with the corresponding prices. They are honest in their work and some procedures were not required, so they did not perform them, which saved me money, time, and peace of mind. I can't stress how amazing this place is to go to. I tell all my friends about it and now telling the world here on Yelp. Go here, you will not be dissapointed.

I live in Beverly Hills and I had my share of bad experience with more than few local dentists. I found Smile Tijuana online and I was impressed with their positive reviews so I decided to book a consultation first with Dr. Citlali Gonzalez who is an amazing Doctor. She explained to me step by step what has to be done. They have an office with the latest technology. After a year and half I finished with most of the dental work with half of the price that my local dentists were asking for and Im very satisfied with Dr Citlali for her caring and honesty personality.
