At their Merchant Endodontics clinic, the husband-wife duo of Dr. Steven J. Merchant and Dr. Kimberly H. Merchant offer treatment and procedures of root canal therapy, endodontics, apicoectomy, cracked teeth, and traumatic injuries. Dr. Steven J. Merchant is a founding fellow of The International Academy of Endodontics, and an early user of the cone beam-based computed tomography.
He has a dental degree from the University School of Dentistry in Chicago and has received several awards including the American College of Dentists Outstanding Leader Award. As an indication of the high esteem, he is held in, when Dr. Gary Carr, considered the ‘Father of Microscopic Endodontics’, needed endodontic treatment, he chose to sit in Dr. Steven Merchant’s dental chair.
Dr. Kimberly Merchant went to Oregon Health Sciences University for her doctorate of medicine in dentistry. Before being in private practice, she served in the Army as a general dentist and is a winner of several medals including the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

No one ever really wants a root canal, but this was about as pain-free as it gets. Very friendly dentist and staff--great communication and super-efficient. I have a neuromuscular disease that makes me a high risk for choking--usually, the dentist's is a pretty frightening experience. Dr. Merchant and his staff were great about making sure I felt comfortable and safe throughout the treatment. Definitely would go to him again...high marks all around!!!!!

Dr. Merchant is an excellent Endodontist. If you want the job done correctly then he's your man. Dr. Merchant uses the most advanced technology, and is realistic in his diagnosis. Being a dental professional myself, I have witnessed hundreds of successful root canals coming from his office without complaint. He may not be the cheapest gig in town, but you get what you pay for. Inexpensive dentistry truly ends up costing more in the end. Trust me. And just to note: His front office staff, have always been friendly, competent and helpful in all of my experiences.

I had a ton of painful dental work as a kid, including 11 teeth pulled and 4 years of braces. I was so scared to have a root canal done but Dr. Merchant was awesome and made it as easy & painless as possible. Don't be scared, go see him and it will be a breeze for you too. Dr Steven Merchant is not only a great doctor, he's an amazing guy! He treated my mom's complicated dental case with ease and his kind office staff worked out a very fair payment plan with me. After Dr Merchant found out i will have the new crown on 27th,he did the root canal on 26th which was the day after Christmas.I can't believe he made the time for me because i was in a hurry.honestly nobody likes to get a root canal,but this was very pleasant experience, first time i didn't hate getting the numbing shot.LOL.Dr Merchant was very gentle and considerate during the procedure.the staffs were very knowledgeable and friendly,too.everyone is so sweet!!

I am very grateful for Dr. Merchant's help. I was told I needed a root canal by a dentist, but Dr. Merchant explained that because I am missing three teeth, I am putting too much strain on the others when I chew. A recent filling by the dentist was too high and all Dr. Merchant did was grind it down a little and for the first time in months, I have no pain. He could have ripped me off for hundreds of dollars and I wouldn't have known the difference. Thank God he is honest.

I had a toothache for 3 weeks. I went to see Dr.Merchant and sure enough I needed a root canal. Im happy to report as of this morning im no longer in pain. If your ever needing a root canal, He is the man. The entire experience from being greeted by Gretchen at the front desk to his assistant Melissa it was an overall great visit considering what I was there for. I highly recommend Dr.Merchant! Dr Merchent is the best I've ever experienced. His equipment and technique's are advanced beyond all others that I've had for root canals. From the very first phone call into this office I truly felt at ease and confident that we had made the right choice. I was setting this appointment up for my husband who was already dealing with several medical issues and this just added to the list. Gretchen was kind and caring and made us feel like our questions and concerns were validated. She was precise on all the fees that may be expected (no hidden costs). She and Dr. Merchant worked with us so that we could make if more affordable. We all know root canals are expensive but the quality and exceptional care we received here was above and beyond. Dr. Merchant's quality care was perfect and his assistant (I don't know her name)was great too! My husband loved how he explained every step and educated him on the process. Gretchen was so compassionate. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

Dr. Merchant is simply a miracle worker. He's the guy you go to to fix the botched work of other so-called dentists. Don't waste your money or time going to any other endo, just get it done right the first place. The reason for the 4 stars is that he is pricey, but he does have state-of-the-art xray machines (no guess work), and he gets the job done in 20 minutes, and zero pain. Take it from someone who knows root canals, he's the best. Who cares about the 'personalities' in the office, you're not there to make friends. I didn't think they were rude, or overfriendly either...either way, I went to him because he knows his job, and does it very well!

Super grateful for Dr Merchant who went above and beyond for me w a dental emergency that started in the ER, w an entire sleepless night of pain, then my general dentist and then a referral to Dr Merchant. He personally called me after hearing what was going on, asked me how I was doing and made a plan w me to be seen sooner than I thought I would be able to. I recently was referred to Dr Merchant's office for a root canal. My experience was exceptionally pleasant. The staff at the front desk and the dental assistants were very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr Merchant was also friendly and knowledgeable. I could tell he knew what he was doing. All the equipment in his dental office looked like state-of-the-art equipment. Needing a root canal can be extremely painful. Dr Merchant new all the tricks to ensure my tooth was properly numbed before performing the proceedure. As expected, my tooth was slightly sore for about two days. Now my tooth is doing fine. I just wanted to formally thank Dr Merchant and his staff for their professionalism and and friendly atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend his office to all my family and friends. Hopefully I will never need a root canal again, but if I did then I would be a returning customer. Thank you.

I can't say I like going to the dentist and I especially wasn't looking forward to getting a root canal, but Dr. Merchant and his staff put me at ease. Dr. Merchant was very informative and kind. He has a very calming bedside manner and explained the whole procedure to me. He was very gentle during the procedure and I have to say that I barely felt a thing. This dentist actually made my root canal pleasant as did his most professional and compassionate staff.
